Welcome New Members!
The past 8+ weeks have brought a mix of emotions, unique circumstances, and new ways of going about our daily lives. Thankfully it now looks like we are on a path to some form of “normalcy” with pools looking like they can open in Phase 2 of the state’s re-opening plan, which we hope will be later this month.
We’d like to thank all Rec Club members for your patience, cooperation and under-standing during this challenging time. We hope each of you are staying safe and healthy!
Thank you to everyone for your continued patience as we work with our insurance company to address the tornado damage at the Club.
Happy Groundhog Day! Lots of important information in our February newsletter, please be sure to check it out and then join us THIS Wednesday to meet our new RDUTennis pros.

Hope everyone can join us next Saturday, Dec 7th at 7:30 PM for the annual Park Crossing Holiday party! We'll have a keg and live music from 'New Local Band' and are asking everyone to BYO other beverages and an appetizer or dessert to share.
Think you’ve got the best chili recipe in PC? Come put it to the test on Nov 16th as we enjoy the cooler weather with some delicious oysters, football & chili. We will set up the chili entries for sampling by the crowd and take a vote to see who wins the honors!

Go Fund Me Improves Recreational Options for Park Crossing
In the Spring of 2016, a
group of members began a large scale internal effort to enhance our club and attract new members. There
were two strategies;
one to make sure new neighbors were enagaged and made aware of all that was available, and the other was
to improve the recreational options
that the Park Crossing Recreation Club offered.
Here is a summary of what was accomplished.
Texas Hold’em
The winner of the Texas Hold’em event is Chad Epting!!!
Congratulations.
We need to thank Terry Schiefer for hosting, organizing & planning the event. He tells us he had several
helpers; with special mention to Pete Asmer and
Mary Jo Schiefer.
Yoga
We are excited to announce the addition of Yoga to the club's programs this
spring. Park Crossing resident
and Yoga instructor, Lori Walker, will be leading the classes. Lori has completed the Athletics and
Fitness Association of America's Practical Yoga Instructor Training. She is currently working towards her
200-
Hour Yoga Teacher Training for her Yoga Alliance Certification.
Texas Hold'em
The first 64 players to pay will participate. Please complete the
online survey/registration form and submit your payment to Park
Crossing Swim & Racquet Club at the clubhouse. Checks should be made payable to PCRC. Your online
registration does not reserve your
seat; your payment reserves your seat!
Coaches Brett and Todd are ready for 2017 to be the best year yet for the Park
Crossing tennis program. Additional USTA & Queen City teams (Men and Women),
tournament opportunities, socials, trips and much more will be available next year.
We are also adding to our summer camp selections and monthly fitness with Yoga
and Senior workouts. We look forward to seeing you on the court in the New Year.

They will deliver free of charge with no minimum amount to Park Crossing and 10% of sales, delivery or in-store, gets refunded directly into our amenity fund, so tell them you're from Park Crossing.
A Big thanks to our Park Crossing neighbors who supported the 2nd Annual Park Crossing
Blood Drive on Labor Day. Thanks to your generosity, the Community Blood Center of the
Carolinas collected 89 units of blood!
This was a 25% increase over our 2015 Labor Day blood drive, and one of the largest single
student-led blood drives held in Charlotte this summer.
89 units gives life to 267 people in our community!

and join us in Logan Court at 10:30 am. The parade will begin at 10:45

Another Spring is upon us and the pool is open. Our swim team is shaping up and of course, tennis
never stops. We have recently added a 4Square pad within the pool, a renovation of the
Women's bathroom is in the works and we are FINALLY looking at alternatives for our
playground. Quite a few of you answered the call for a donation of time, talent and dollars
to push some of the projects through and that is greatly appreciated.
Dust off your swim caps because the swim team season is right around the corner! We are excited
to have some of our favorite coaches returning as well as a few new faces! A special thank you to
our sponsors DD Peckers, Carolina Flipz, Sellers Orthodontics, and Mary Shumate-Keller
Williams Realty Broker. Please click the link for important dates and information!
There are exciting ideas, programs and ways to “connect” coming to Park Crossing and we need your help to
make it all come to life. Whether you’re a
Rec Club Member or not, this will impact you, your family and create an even greater community. I’ve
received the go ahead from the Rec Club Board to
seek donations in time, money and expertise for the betterment of the club.
